The Bell County Historical Museum announces DUAL UNVEILING on Tuesday, April 24. From 2 until 6 PM the doors at the museum ill be open for to important community events.
First, the contents of the time capsule from the Bell County Centennial celebration will be on display. In August of 1967 the capsule as buried in the courthouse grounds in Pineville and as dug up last August on the county’s 150th anniversary. What did the community want to preserve for viewing 50 years later? Come and see.
Second, the just published Bell County Pictorial History books are available to be picked up by those who subscribed during the pre-sale. Also, copies are available for purchase by those who missed the pre-sale at 49.95 plus tax. The 240 page hardbound book has hundreds of photos of local people and places submitted by families and businesses as well as those chosen from the museum archives.
As another special attraction, Mr. Chuck Owens will provide a slide show from his huge collection of historical photographs. These will run continuously throughout the afternoon.
Admission is free. However, donations to the museum are welcome and much needed for the operation of the museum.
