Our book of the month for September is the Cumberland Valley Sketchbook by Robert A. Powell.

The Cumberland Valley Sketchbook is a collection of Mr. Powell’s pen and ink drawings that represent the diverse and colorful history of the unique section of southeastern Kentucky! It is his effort to preserve vital bits of heritage to be appreciated by present and future generations. It features eight Kentucky counties including: Bell, Clay, Harlan, Jackson, Knox, Laurel, Rockcastle, and Whitley.

The sketchbook was sponsored by the Home Federal Bank and is available at the Bell County Historical Society Museum for a $10 donation to the Historical Society.
